All securities
have an associated currency in which they are quoted.
GBP stands for British Pounds.
Could you
explain the share valuation entry I receive in my
portfolio valuation?
The share valuation
entry comprises the following:
Holding:
No. of shares
held in the company
Probate Price:
Calculated from
bid and offer prices. Bid price + 25% (offer - bid).
e.g. Stock A
has a bid price of 10 and an offer price of 11,
this would result in a probate price of 10.25.
The probate price
is quoted in the currency of the security.
E.g. If a probate
price is given as 1.45 and the currency is GBP this
is £1.45.
Exchange Rate:
If the security
is quoted in pounds this will always be 1 otherwise
this represents the exchange rate between British
Pounds and the currency quoted.
Currency:
The currency
the security is quoted in.
Value:
The Probate Price
/ Exchange Rate * Holding
I get a message
"No data for selected Valuation Date",
what does this mean?
This can mean
one of two things. Firstly, it may mean that you
have selected a non-business day, in this case ensure
the valuation date entered is not a weekend or a
bank holiday. Secondly, if it is a valid business
day, the security you are looking for has not been
quoted, this may be due to a number of factors such
as share suspension, change of name etc.
I requested
a valuation but have not received my report, what
do I do?
In normal circumstances
the results are calculated immediately and the valuation
report dispatched at the same time if you are a
subscription user or you are paying by Credit/Debit
Card. Occasionally however problems may arise, this
could be for a number of reasons, it could be that
the email address that you provided is wrong, there
could be a problem with the email server that you
or your company uses. If you have not received your
valuation report or you have mislaid it then let
us know and we will re-send it.
What does
ISIN No. mean?
ISIN stands for
International Security Identification Number. Each
country has a national numbering agency which assigns
ISIN numbers for securities in that country.
